AZALAS

Our Recommendation
9.2

Left Side of the Plane

While both sides offer stunning desert landscapes, the left side is the clear winner for the iconic approach into Las Vegas, often providing a front-row seat to the Las Vegas Strip during the final descent.

Left Side Highlights
9.2
🌵

Sonoran Desert Vistas

Expansive views of the pristine desert landscape and saguaro forests shortly after departing Mesa.

🏙️

Phoenix Metro Skyline

A wide-angle perspective of the Valley of the Sun, including Camelback Mountain and downtown Phoenix.

🏜️

Joshua Tree Parkway

The unique high-desert vegetation along the US-93 corridor as the flight moves north.

🌊

Colorado River

The deep blue water of the Colorado River carving through the rugged Black Canyon.

🎰

Las Vegas Strip

Incredible views of the world-famous resorts, including the Sphere and the High Roller, during the arrival pattern.

To maximize your experience, choose a seat forward of the wing to avoid engine heat blur. Night flights are particularly spectacular on this side to see the neon lights of the Strip. For morning flights, this side will be shaded, providing better visibility and less glare for photos.

Right Side Highlights
8.4
⛰️

Superstition Mountains

Dramatic volcanic peaks and rugged wilderness visible immediately after takeoff from AZA.

💧

Lake Mead

The massive expanse of the reservoir, showing the striking contrast between the blue water and red desert rock.

🏗️

Hoover Dam

An excellent view of the engineering marvel and the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.

🏔️

Muddy Mountains

Deeply eroded limestone and sandstone formations north of the Lake Mead NRA.

The right side is the best choice if your primary goal is to see Hoover Dam and the full scale of Lake Mead. Be aware that on afternoon flights, the sun will be on this side, which can make the cabin hot and create glare on the window. Look out for the 'bathtub ring' around Lake Mead, which is highly visible from this height.
