COKRUH

Our Recommendation
8.5

Right Side of the Plane

The Right Side (Starboard) is generally superior for this route as it offers the best chance to spot the Lakshadweep atolls shortly after departure and provides a better perspective of the rugged Musandam Peninsula and the vast sand patterns of the Arabian desert without direct solar glare for much of the day.

Right Side Highlights
8.5
🏝️

Lakshadweep Islands

Keep a sharp eye out shortly after takeoff for the stunning coral atolls and turquoise lagoons of the Lakshadweep archipelago.

⛰️

Musandam Peninsula

Depending on the specific airway, you may see the dramatic 'Fjords of Arabia' near the Strait of Hormuz.

🏙️

UAE Coastline

Distant views of the northern Emirates' skylines and the industrial coastal developments as you cross into the peninsula.

🏜️

Desert Textures

Intricate wind-blown patterns and shifting dune formations of the central Saudi desert during the descent into Riyadh.

🌃

Riyadh Cityscape

Panoramic views of the expanding capital, including the iconic Kingdom Centre and Al Faisaliyah Center on the final approach.

The right side is ideal for morning and midday flights to avoid direct sunlight. For the best view of the Lakshadweep islands, look out within the first 30-45 minutes of the flight. Clear skies are most common from November to March, providing the sharpest views of the desert floor.

🌴

Malabar Coastline

Lush green vistas of the Kerala coast and the backwaters immediately after takeoff from COK.

🌊

Arabian Sea Expanse

Uninterrupted views of the deep blue Arabian Sea for the middle duration of the flight.

🏜️

Rub' al Khali Edge

Views of the southern fringes of the Empty Quarter with its massive orange-red sand dunes.

🚜

Al Kharj Farms

Unique circular irrigation patterns and agricultural patches visible as the plane approaches central Saudi Arabia.

Choose the left side for evening flights to witness spectacular sunsets over the Arabian Sea. Be aware that during the day, this side faces the sun for a significant portion of the journey, which may lead to heat and glare.
