As the aircraft departs, you will see the charming village of Vila do Corvo and the dramatic, verdant cliffs that define the island's rugged southern coastline.
The right side offers an unparalleled view of the volcanic architecture of both islands. Immediately after takeoff from Corvo, you get a clear look at the island's massive central crater (Caldeirão) and the isolated Vila do Corvo. As you approach Flores, this side faces the lush, emerald-green central highlands and the dramatic vertical cliffs for which the island is famous.
The left side provides a spectacular perspective of the eastern coast of Flores and an iconic, unobstructed view of Mount Pico—Portugal's highest point—rising from the ocean during the approach to Horta.
