Our Recommendation
8.7

Right Side of the Plane

While both sides offer spectacular alpine views, the Right Side is generally superior for seeing the highest peaks of the Swiss Alps, the full expanse of Lake Garda, and the dramatic descent alongside the Apennine Mountains.

Right Side Highlights
8.7
🏔️

Central Swiss Alps

Breathtaking views of major peaks like the Jungfrau and Eiger as you head south from Germany.

💧

Lake Garda

The distinct narrow northern fjord and wide southern basin of Italy's largest lake are clearly visible.

⛰️

Gran Sasso Massif

The highest peaks of the Apennines provide a rugged backdrop during the descent into the Abruzzo region.

🏘️

Pescara Cityscape

A bird's-eye view of the city's grid-like streets and long sandy beaches just before touchdown.

This side is exceptional for afternoon flights, as the sun sets over the Apennine Mountains to the west. Look out for Lake Garda approximately midway through the flight. During landing, you will get a fantastic perspective of the coastal urban sprawl and the mountains.

Left Side Highlights
8.2
🏔️

Austrian Tyrol

Stunning views of the jagged limestone peaks and deep valleys of the eastern Alps.

💎

The Dolomites

The unique, pale rock formations of this UNESCO World Heritage site are visible as you cross into Italy.

🛶

Venetian Lagoon

On clear days, the distant shimmer of Venice and its surrounding islands can be spotted to the east.

🌊

Adriatic Horizon

Expansive views of the deep blue Adriatic Sea as the flight tracks south along the Italian coast.

Book a morning flight to have the sun behind you, illuminating the Alps perfectly. Keep your camera ready about 40 minutes after take-off for the best mountain shots. During the final approach, this side offers the best view of the open sea.
