LINCDG

Our Recommendation
9.2

Left Side of the Plane

The left side offers a superior perspective of the highest Alpine peaks, including Mont Blanc, and provides a much higher chance of seeing the Paris skyline and Eiffel Tower during the approach into CDG.

Left Side Highlights
9.2
🏔️

Mont Blanc

Unrivaled views of the highest peak in the Alps and the surrounding Aosta Valley glaciers.

🏞️

Gran Paradiso

Aerial perspective of Italy's first national park, featuring rugged terrain and snow-capped massifs.

💧

Lake Annecy

The turquoise waters of one of the cleanest lakes in Europe, nestled within the French Prealps.

🍇

Burgundy Vineyards

Geometric patterns of world-famous wine estates around Beaune and Dijon.

🗼

Paris Skyline

On specific southerly approaches to CDG, the Eiffel Tower and Montparnasse Tower are visible in the distance.

Sit toward the rear of the cabin to ensure the wing doesn't block your view of the vertical Alpine drops. Choose a morning flight for front-lighting on the southern faces of the mountains. On descent, keep your camera ready for the 'Boucle de la Seine' as you enter the Parisian airspace.

Right Side Highlights
8.5
🚤

Italian Lakes

Stunning views of Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands shortly after takeoff from Linate.

🏔️

Monte Rosa Massif

The massive icy wall of the second-highest peak in Western Europe, often clearly visible to the north.

⛰️

Jura Mountains

The distinct folded ridges and dense forests marking the border between Switzerland and France.

🍾

Champagne Region

The rolling chalky hills of the Marne valley, home to the world's most famous sparkling wine.

🏗️

CDG Terminal 1

The iconic octopus-like circular architecture of the Paul Andreu-designed terminal during landing.

The right side is best for seeing the Italian Lakes during the initial climb out of Milan. It also provides a great view of the Matterhorn in the distance if the sky is clear. In the afternoon, this side remains in the shade, which is better for glare-free photography of the Jura range.
