Our Recommendation
8.8

Right Side of the Plane

While both sides offer spectacular views, the right side provides the most dramatic perspective of the High Alps, including a potential view of Mont Blanc, and a prime angle for the iconic Øresund Bridge during the descent into Copenhagen.

Right Side Highlights

🏔️

The High Alps

Spectacular views of snow-capped peaks, including the Mont Blanc massif and the Swiss Oberland.

🌊

Lake Constance (Bodensee)

The massive lake where Germany, Switzerland, and Austria meet, often shimmering in the sunlight.

🏰

Central German Uplands

Patchwork fields, dense forests, and small historic towns across the heart of Germany.

🚢

Baltic Sea Coast

The rugged coastline of Northern Germany and the island of Fehmarn as you cross into Danish airspace.

🌉

Øresund Bridge

The famous bridge and tunnel system connecting Denmark and Sweden, clearly visible during the final approach to CPH.

The Alps appear early (approx. 20-30 mins after takeoff), so keep your camera ready. During the approach to Copenhagen, the right side is generally superior for spotting the Øresund Bridge. Note that morning flights will face direct sunlight on this side, which can be intense.

Left Side Highlights

🏖️

Côte d'Azur Coastline

Aerial view of the French Riviera's turquoise waters and the luxury yachts of Antibes and Cannes shortly after takeoff.

🏔️

Jura Mountains

The distinctive folded limestone ridges stretching along the France-Switzerland border.

💧

Lake Geneva (Lac Léman)

The vast, crescent-shaped lake with the city of Geneva often visible at its western tip.

🌲

The Black Forest

Dense, dark evergreen canopies and rolling hills throughout Southwestern Germany.

⚓

Port of Hamburg

On clear days, the massive industrial layout and container ships of Germany's largest port can be seen.

Sit on the left for the best views of the French coastline during takeoff. If flying in the afternoon, this side will be away from the direct sun for the majority of the flight, making it much better for photography without glare.
