Our Recommendation
9.8

Left Side of the Plane

The left side provides a continuous and majestic panorama of the high Himalayas, featuring several of the world's highest peaks just outside your window.

Left Side Highlights
9.8
🏔️

Annapurna Massif

Uninterrupted views of Annapurna I, II, III, and IV shortly after departing from Pokhara.

⛰️

Machhapuchhre

The iconic 'Fishtail' peak is visible in all its glory, standing distinct from the main range.

🏔️

Manaslu

The world's eighth-highest peak appears as the flight progresses eastward toward Kathmandu.

🏔️

Ganesh Himal

A beautiful sub-range of the Himalayas that marks the mid-point of the short flight.

🏔️

Langtang Range

Snowy peaks that come into view as the aircraft begins its descent into the Kathmandu Valley.

For the most spectacular views, book a window seat on the left side of the aircraft (usually seat 'A'). Aim for early morning flights between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM when the air is clearest and the sun illuminates the peaks from the east. During winter months, visibility is exceptional, whereas the monsoon season (June to August) often brings cloud cover that hides the high mountains.

Right Side Highlights
4.2
🌊

Seti River Gorge

A glimpse of the deep, narrow canyon carved by the Seti River through the Pokhara Valley floor.

🏞️

Begnas Lake

One of the larger lakes in the Pokhara region, surrounded by lush green hills.

🌳

Mahabharat Range

The rugged middle hills of Nepal, featuring intricate terrace farming and deep valleys.

🏙️

Kathmandu Outskirts

The sprawling suburban expansion and ancient settlements on the western edge of the valley.

While the right side (usually seat 'D') lacks the high mountain peaks, it offers a great look at the traditional terrace farming and rural hilltop villages of central Nepal. If the mountains are obscured by clouds on the left, the right side provides interesting textures of the hilly landscape. Afternoon flights provide better lighting for the green valleys on this side.
