Our Recommendation
9.5

Left Side of the Plane

The left side offers a front-row seat to the massive Andes mountain range and a series of iconic snow-capped volcanoes as you fly south along the spine of Chile.

Left Side Highlights
9.5
🏔️

High Andes Peaks

Breathtaking views of the central Andes, including peaks like Cerro El Plomo and Tupungato shortly after takeoff.

🌋

Maipo Volcano

The perfectly symmetrical cone of the Maipo Volcano and its surrounding caldera near the Argentine border.

🍇

Central Valley Vineyards

Aerial patterns of the Colchagua and Maule valleys, famous for Chile's world-class red wine production.

❄️

Nevados de Chillán

A complex volcanic system featuring multiple peaks that are often covered in deep snow and occasionally venting steam.

💧

Laguna del Laja

The deep blue waters of this high-altitude lake positioned right next to the jagged Antuco Volcano.

Sit on the left (seats A/C) for the most dramatic mountain scenery. Morning flights provide the best lighting as the sun illuminates the eastern slopes of the Andes. In winter, the entire range is covered in snow, making for spectacular photography. Look for the distinct volcanic cones which are more prominent on this side of the flight path.

Right Side Highlights
7.2
🌊

Coastal Cordillera

The older, weathered mountain range that runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean, offering a rugged green contrast to the valley.

🛶

Lake Rapel

A large, multi-armed reservoir that is a popular spot for water sports, visible early in the flight.

🐍

Mataquito River

The winding path of the Mataquito River as it snakes through the coastal hills toward the sea.

🌉

Biobío River Mouth

The expansive mouth of Chile's widest river as it meets the Pacific Ocean near the city of Concepción.

⚓

Talcahuano Peninsula

Views of the industrial port and the Quiriquina Island during the final approach into Carriel Sur.

The right side (seats K/L) is ideal for sunset flights, as you can watch the sun drop over the Pacific Ocean. During the descent into CCP, the right side often gets a better view of the coastline and the urban layout of the Greater Concepción area. It is generally a 'greener' view compared to the rocky left side.
