The approach offers a stunning view of the colorful houses of Fakfak town clinging to the hillsides and the deep blue waters of the Ceram Sea.
The right side provides a superior view of the dramatic karst landscapes, limestone cliffs, and the dense primary rainforest of the Onin Peninsula as you fly northwest along the coast.
The left side offers a superior view of the dramatic Arfak Mountains and the unique high-altitude Anggi Lakes shortly after takeoff, followed by the expansive mangrove systems of Bintuni Bay.
While both sides offer incredible views of West Papua's rugged landscape, the right side provides a superior mix of the turquoise Ceram Sea, dramatic coastal cliffs, and the scattered island chains near Fakfak.
The left side provides a much more varied landscape, featuring the rugged southern coastline of Seram Island and the spectacular coral atolls near the Geser archipelago before crossing the sea to Papua.
