The descent provides a scenic overlook of the winding Yeongsan River and a detailed view of Gwangju's urban skyline and surrounding agricultural plains.
The right side offers a superior view of Jeju's volcanic landscape including Mt. Hallasan upon departure, followed by a spectacular panorama of the Dadohaehaesang archipelago and the rugged peaks of Mudeungsan during the descent.
While both sides offer views of the Korean Peninsula's diverse landscape, the right side is superior for its stunning perspective of the jagged West Sea coastline, expansive tidal flats, and the massive Saemangeum Seawall.
